Caring for Your Hardwood Flooring

As with all hardwood floors, you may wish to secure your investment by caring for your walnut hardwood flooring correctly. It is important to follow the manufacturer's recommended directions to avoid voiding your warranty, but there are some general rules of thumb to follow in its own care and general maintenance :

  • These may act as abrasives in the floor's finish.
  • Vacuum your floor at least one time each week to achieve debris between floorboards. Use a vacuum that doesn't have a beater bar, which may mar your floors with warmth marks.
  • Never wet-mop your hardwood flooring --rather, just damp mop. Instantly wipe up any spills to prevent discoloration or water damage.
  • Place mats created especially for hardwood flooring in regions of entranceways and close sinks to capture any dirt which could be monitored in or some splashed water.
